Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.
Nine people were injured while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.
At the same time, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to regional authorities.
Russian forces has increased assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while officials has called for "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.
"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and applying restrictions," he wrote in a public message.
Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets attacked energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.
Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.
A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.
Several of the people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from municipal representatives.
Area administrators said the urban area endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were injured.
The assaults come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.
The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.
Authorities told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.
Officials stated energy workers and authorities were preparing for additional strikes.
